The Odds to support Help for Heroes

Rushmoor Male Voice Choir, known locally as the “Odd Fellows”, announced that their Summer concert on 9th June in Princes Hall Aldershot will be used to raise funds for the Help for Heroes charity.

The charity was delighted by this news – “Help for Heroes supports those with injuries and illnesses sustained while serving in the British Armed Forces. No matter when someone served, we give them the support they need to lead active, independent and fulfilling lives. There are thousands of Servicemen and women who need support to cope with injuries and illnesses of varying severity. Wounds and injuries – both physical and mental – can last a lifetime and Help for Heroes is here to help them cope with the challenges they face.” James Burns, Help for Heroes Regional Manager said “long term recovery is more than repairing damaged bodies and minds; it’s about rebuilding lives, so we would like to thank Rushmoor ‘Odd Fellows’ Male Voice Choir for choosing to support Help for Heroes.  On behalf of those that we support, thank you.”

Peter Viveash, Chairman of The Rushmoor Male Voice Choir commented “Many of our members are ex-servicemen and so have a great admiration for the work of Help for Heroes. We are privileged to help them in our own way. And with the concert taking place in the traditional home of the British Army, Aldershot, it was an ideal choice to select Help for Heroes to receive the funds raised.”

The concert will include a guest performance by trumpeter Toby Coles, who has toured and recorded with several leading orchestras and performers. Toby regularly plays in West End shows and is currently lead trumpeter on the musical Wicked.

Tickets for the concert on 9th June are £12, and can be obtained from the Princes Hall box office on 01252 329 155 or www.princeshall.com.
