All you need is an enjoyment of singing and a desire to improve
Rehearsals
We meet at 7:30 p.m. every Monday at North Camp Methodist Church Hall, Lynchford Road, Farnborough, GU14 6EG. We also have occasional extra rehearsals before major concerts.
Each member is expected to attend regular rehearsals. The choir does take a short break at Easter (one week), Christmas (two weeks) and a summer break from mid-July to early September.
Rehearsal Aids
You can work on new musical pieces in between rehearsals – practice aids are made available to help with this using a free computer programme called Noteworthy.
Come along to any rehearsal and just try us out - we are a friendly bunch!
Concerts
The choir performs two major concerts each year: a Summer Concert in June; and a Christmas Concert at Farnham Maltings in December. Both are major fund raising events for local charities that we select. Interspersed between these concerts we perform for smaller fund raising events. On average we have 1-2 of these a month and in total we help to raise around £10,000 for local good causes.
Subscriptions
The yearly subscription to be a member of the choir is £120, payable as a Monthly Standing Order of £10 or a one-off cheque.
A joining fee for new members is just £20 covering the first 6 months on the understanding that they will buy a uniform during that time.
Uniform
Our concert uniform consists of a patterned burgundy waistcoat and bow tie, white shirt, black trousers and red socks.
It is suggested that new members wait a few weeks before rushing out to buy a uniform just to see if the choir’s culture is what they are seeking before incurring cost.
