Odds brave the cold to perform in Woking URC

On Saturday evening the 11th February our choir members braved the minus 7 degrees C. to travel to Woking to perform their first concert of 2012 at the United Reformed Church to raise funds in respect of the church extension. Despite the bitterly cold evening there was an excellent turn-out. The audience responded very appreciatively to all the 20 plus items on the programme which started with the rowsing 76 Trombones from The Music Man and included popular items such asStout-hearted Men (The New Moon)), You Raise Me Up (made famous by West Life), Battle Hymn Of The Republic, African Prayer, Speed Your Journey, Portrait Of My Love. . . The event raised the splendid sum of £1000 profit. (The choir members donate their time and talents free for all charitable causes!)
