Rushmoor Odd Fellows Male Voice Choir were pleased to present a cheque for over £2,150 to the local charity Step by Step. The sum was raised from the proceeds of a concert at the Princes Hall Aldershot earlier in the summer. Hazel Radnor, a fundraiser from the charity, thanked the choir for the highly successful concert and assured the ‘Odds’ that the money presented would be put to good use in their aim to help young people in the area with accommodation and other needs. Also in the photograph are the chairman of the choir, Peter Viveash and the renowned conductor, Dr Haydn James, the President of the Odds.
The choir continue to raise over £10,000 annually for local charities as they give their services free and only have to be asked to support a good cause. Their web site contains the details required for requesting such concerts.
Their busy schedule for the next three months has concerts at Farnborough Hill School in aid of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice; at High Cross Church Camberley, in aid of the church charity ASCT; at Knellwood Farnborough; at Walsh Junior School, in aid of school improvements; at Farnham Hospital and finally for the year a major concert in aid of the Prostate Project at the Maltings Farnham. More details can be found on the choir website rushmoormvc.com
The choir is always keen to welcome new members: to join this flourishing choir simply come along to one of our rehearsals at the North Camp Methodist Church Hall on Lynchford Road Farnborough GU14 6EG. Rehearsals are held every Monday evening starting at 8pm. Not only is the singing good but the camaraderie is second to none. We look forward to meeting and greeting you.
