September 11, 2017– At their rehearsal today the Rushmoor Male Voice Choir presented a cheque for £811 to the Help for Heroes charity which was the collection from a June concert featuring the choir plus guest artist Toby Coles.

Peter Viveash, Chairman of The Rushmoor ‘Odd Fellows’ Male Voice Choir, presented Help for Heroes local volunteer, Ray Wood, with a cheque that represents the proceeds from the concert held on 9th June at Princes Hall, Aldershot. The choir, conducted by Musical Director Stephen Petch and accompanied by Margery Wakefield, entertained the audience with a wide repertoire from classic choral numbers through popular hits to film and show themes. They were joined by trumpeter Toby Coles, who has toured and recorded with a number of leading orchestras and performers. Toby regularly plays in West End shows and is currently lead trumpeter on the musical Wicked.

Presenting the donation Peter Viveash commented “With the concert taking place in the traditional home of the British Army, Aldershot, Help for Heroes was an ideal choice to receive the funds raised. We were delighted to help them in our way, as they are helping those who have been injured in the line of duty”. James Burns, Help for Heroes Regional Manager said “Long term recovery is more than repairing damaged bodies and minds; it’s about rebuilding lives, so we would like to thank Rushmoor ‘Odd Fellows’ Male Voice Choir for choosing to support Help for Heroes.  On behalf of those that we support, thank you.”

The Choir is performing in a number of concerts over the coming three months including events in Camberley, Church Crookham and Farnborough culminating in their major Winter Concert at the Farnham Maltings on 7th December. Details can be found on the choir website at
